The one number that tells you everything


Most dentists track the wrong things.

Production. Collections. New patients per month. These are real numbers but they do not tell you why your aligner program is working or why it is not.

The number that actually tells you everything is your case acceptance rate.

Out of every patient you present aligners to, how many say yes?

That is it. That is the whole scorecard.

If you do not know that number off the top of your head, you do not have a system. You have a series of random events that sometimes result in a case and sometimes do not.

Here is why it matters. A doctor who presents to ten patients and closes three has a 30% acceptance rate. A doctor who closes five has 50%. The difference between those two doctors is not effort. It is not how many patients they see. It is one skill: how they present.

Improving your case acceptance rate by 20% does not require more patients, more ads, or more marketing spend. It requires getting better at the conversation you are already having.

I have seen doctors double their aligner production in 90 days without changing anything except how they present cases. Same schedule. Same patient base. Different outcome.

Track the number. Then work backwards from it.
