Too many refinements? This simple fix helps.

Hey Friends,

If you’re doing multiple rounds of refinements on every case, it’s costing you time, money, and patience.

Most refinements come down to one simple mistake:

Not testing aligner fit at the first delivery.

The first tray sets the tone for the entire case.

If it’s not fully seated on day one, movement will be off by the time you hit tray 10.

🔥 Actionable Tip: At the first delivery, use a pressure point test. Have the patient bite on chewies for 5 minutes, then check the fit. If there’s any space between the tray and the incisal edges, don’t send them home yet. Adjust attachments or check for interferences before they leave the chair.

This prevents tracking issues and refinements later.

Straight Talk

“It’s hard for me to see the ROI…”

If you’ve ever thought this when considering aligner training, you’re not alone. But the hesitation isn’t really about the training itself—it’s about something deeper:

“Will my doctors actually follow through and deliver on this?”

It’s a valid concern. Many practices struggle with associates who lack confidence, teams who see aligners as “optional,” or the fear that adding aligners will complicate workflows instead of streamlining them.

Here’s the reality—just one case per office per month is enough to make aligner training a smart financial decision. And the best part? Most doctors don’t stop at one. With the right training and support, they start three, five, even ten cases a month. Why? Because confidence leads to action, and action leads to results.

Hope isn’t a strategy. Your doctors don’t need to “figure it out” on their own. They need a proven system, clear workflows, and the right support to turn aligners into a predictable, profitable part of your practice.

When your team is supported, case acceptance improves. Workflows simplify. Aligners stop feeling like extra work and start driving real growth. They don’t just add revenue—they elevate your team’s skillset, build patient trust, and make scaling across locations easier.

The real question isn’t whether this works—it’s whether you’re ready to remove the barriers holding your doctors back. The opportunity is there. Your team is capable. Now it’s time to give them the tools to succeed.

Your Friend,

Dr. Avi

I want to tell you something that took me a while to see. The doctor is not the reason most aligner cases fall apart. The team is. Not because they are doing anything wrong. Because no one ever trained them on what to do right. Here is what happens in most offices. The patient sits down. The doctor does the exam, sees a great aligner candidate, presents the case, and the patient says they will think about it. The doctor moves on. What the doctor does not know is that when the patient checked...

You already have everything you need to grow your aligner practice. It is sitting in your schedule right now. Most dentists spend hundreds or thousands of dollars every month trying to bring in new patients. Ads. Mailers. SEO. And all of it to find someone who has never heard of them. Meanwhile the patients who already trust them, already like them, already show up every six months, are leaving without ever being offered aligners. That is not a marketing problem. That is a conversation...

Every year dentists spend thousands of dollars going to conferences. The flight. The hotel. The registration fee. Time away from the practice. And most of them come home with a notebook full of ideas and a schedule that looks exactly the same as it did before they left. I get it. The energy at these events is real. The speakers are sharp. The conversations in the hallway are worth more than the sessions themselves sometimes. I love that environment. But there is a question I started asking...
