Your patients are like 4 week old babies...

Hey Friends,

Today marks the day where Naira turned 1 month!

This has been the fastest and longest month ever HAHA

Fatherhood has been an adventure so far and I would be lying if I said it was easy.

I think I was prepared for more tasks and responsibility - that is not the hard part.

The hard part for me has been this process of learning how to be patient and not get frustrated with Naira.

I feel so connected to her but at the same time I don't

I can feel her energy when she is frustrated, uncomfortable and not happy

This creates a visceral feeling inside of me that reflect her feelings which then causes me to get frustrated/angry

She's cute and small and learning how to be a human - but i don't feel like she is "mine" just yet.

I have heard that connection is instant for mother's and can take fathers about 6 weeks for it to happen... so I am waiting for that patiently haha

I already know this girl will battle her mom for my heart - and I will love them both until the end of time.

I am in a season of learning how to be patient both personally and professionally...

(In case you didn't know... I am trying to help all the dentists who are trying to level up their career with aligners.... this takes time haha)

And I trust that everything will work out.

If you felt this way about kids or feel frustrated with your practice or patients not saying yes to treatment - just know that sometimes being PATIENT is the answer to your problems.

It's not easy but it is what needs to be done.

Relating this to aligners or any treatment that you discuss with patients...

You know they need it - you tell them why they need it - you show them why they need it - you tell them what will happen if they don't do it - you know it's good for them but they still don't accept!

This makes you frustrated - angry (kind of like me when I am changing Naira's diaper and she's screaming and kicking her legs which sometimes touch the poop in her diaper which then requires me to clean her feet on top of her butt lol)

She needs her diaper changed because there is poop in it - if I don't change it then she will sit in a poopy diaper and will get a rash - this rash will make her even more uncomfortable - so if she would just let me use the baby wipe (which she hates because it's cold) we can get her cleaned up and moved on... but she doesn't agree to this treatment 🀣

I do it anyway - multiple times a day - at 8am, 5pm, 4am - it doesn't matter.

This is what is best for her and my wife and I will continue to consistently change her diaper when it's dirty.

This is the mindset you can embody when you are talking to patients about ways they can improve their oral health by using aligners to get their teeth to move into a healthier position.

I guess I just drew a line of similarity between your patients and my 1 month old baby - EPIC!

So just remember - be patient - be consistent and TRUST that you are planting the seeds for future treatment.

Trust that you have put in the work and planted the seeds - and remember that oak trees don't grow overnight πŸ˜‰

You asked and we listened!

Many of you have asked for more flexible payment options for our comprehensive Aligner training program Aligner Launchpad - so we just rolled out a flexible 6 Pay option to allow you to make smaller payments over a longer period of time!

To break this down...

If you start 1 aligner case a month for the next 6 months you will have consistently made enough money to have paid for the program plus profit.

Straight Talk

I’m super excited to talk about a game-changer in our field – digital scanning for clear aligners! This technology is not just cool; it's transformative. So, without further ado, let's dive into my top 5 tips to make the most of it:

1. Embrace the Change: If you haven't made the leap to digital scanning, now is the time. It’s fast, accurate, and incredibly patient-friendly. Say goodbye to the goop and discomfort of traditional impressions – your patients will thank you!

2. πŸ’‘ Master the Tech: Like any new tool, there’s a learning curve to digital scanning. Invest time in training yourself and your team. The more proficient you are, the smoother the process will be for you and your patients.

3. πŸ”„ Consistent Updates and Maintenance: Keep your software and hardware up to date. Regular updates ensure you’re utilizing the latest features and maintaining high accuracy. Plus, well-maintained equipment always makes a good impression (pun intended!).

4. πŸ—£οΈ Educate Your Patients: Use digital scans to engage and educate your patients about their treatment plan. Showing them their 3D scans can help them visualize the treatment outcome and understand the process better, boosting their confidence and compliance.

5. πŸ“ˆ Utilize for Comprehensive Treatment Planning: Digital scans aren’t just for creating aligners; they're powerful diagnostic tools. Use them for comprehensive treatment planning, monitoring progress, and making precise adjustments throughout the treatment journey.

Hey Friends, The concept of dental student loan repayment is pretty nuts. You took out around $500k in loans just to learn how to do basic procedures. You come out and know little to nothing Then you have to essentially invest in more education to be able to level up. If you didn't know you needed to do that... now you know lol I say this because I wish I knew that earlier in my career. The first dentist I worked for actually told me CE was a waste of money... (he was wrong - kind of) I think...

Hey Friends, The question posed in the subject may seem redundant to you but focus and "things to focus on" is an interesting concept. Some people think they need to be doing multiple things at once to be productive. Others think they just need to focus on one thing at a time and chip away. I don't know if there is a right answer but lately I have been doing a combo of both. It's helped me make INSANE strides in MEANINGFUL projects that I am working on right now. In the last 2 weeks I have...

Hey Doc, I'll keep this week's newsletter short. A lot of people have been asking me to bring back one of my original programs because they said they wanted a starter program where they could still gain confidence with aligners but at a more approachable price point... I fought it for the longest time because I thought everyone wanted ALL of the value and support that comes with Aligner Launchpad (hence the investment amount) But I realized this was ME thinking about ME. And you are not me....
